Brian Block, founder of Block By Block Home Inspections Inc., is a full time home inspector and has performed more than 4,000 inspections. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and was professionally trained as a Home Inspector at ProSource / Kaplan Professional Schools, a well-respected school for fields in the Real Estate and Building Contractor industries. Home Inspectors are not regulated in the State of Minnesota, but Brian has obtained his license to do inspections in Wisconsin by passing their two required tests: the National Home Inspector Examination and the Wisconsin Protocol Exam. He is certified by the National Environmental Health Association to perform radon testing in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, and enhances his knowledge with continuing education courses.

Brian is also a certified home inspector with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). ASHI is the oldest and most respected professional home inspection organization in America. Certified ASHI inspectors have met rigorous technical and experience requirements. ASHI Certified Inspectors are required to successfully complete two written examinations that test their knowledge of building systems and components and of the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. They must also successfully pass the National Home Inspector Examination and complete annual continuing education requirements. Certified inspectors’ reports are verified as meeting the ASHI Standards of Practice, and they must have performed a minimum of 250 fee-paid inspections.
